Who we are, and the law we follow

Geeks Online Pty Limited (ABN 35 124 901 917) is an Australian company that makes websites for family venues. This page says what we collect when you use our website builder, and what we do with it.

We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). In short: we collect only what the service needs, we use it only for the service, we do not sell it, and you can ask to see or correct what we hold.

What we collect, in one list

If you only look around

You can open the builder and try it without telling us anything. What you type stays in your own browser until you sign in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics that follow you around the web.

If you sign in

We keep:

To stop people misusing the sign-in form, we also count, for a short time, how many codes have been asked for from an internet address.

We also email you about your own account when there is something you need to know: a welcome when you first sign in, and word if a payment does not go through, if your plan ends, or if a free preview is about to come down. These are not marketing, and we send nothing else.

When you type your venue's address, we ask Amazon's mapping service where it is, so that your page can show a map. Only the address is sent, and we keep the answer for a month.

If you pay for the plan

Payment is taken by Stripe, on Stripe's own page. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. Stripe holds the billing details you give it (your name, address and card) under its own privacy policy. We keep a record of which plan you have, when it renews, and the reference Stripe gives us for you, so that we know your site should be live.

If you put your site on your own domain, we keep the name of that domain.

If you publish

Publishing puts your site at a public web address. Anyone with the address can see what is on it, so only put there what you want the public to see. You can take it down at any time from the builder.

If a visitor writes to you through your site

Your page can carry an enquiry form. What a visitor writes in it is sent on to you by email, at the address you sign in with, and your reply goes straight to them. We do not keep the message, and we do not use the visitor's details for anything else. To stop robots and nuisance, we count for a short time how many messages have come from an internet address and to a site.

If you sell from your site, or buy from one

A venue that sells vouchers or passes from its site connects its own Stripe account, under Stripe's terms; we keep the account's reference and whether it can take payments. A buyer pays on Stripe's page, and Stripe gives us the buyer's name and email address with the sale; we keep those with the order so the venue knows who bought what, and we email the buyer their code. We do not see card details.

If you write to us

What you send through the contact form on our help page reaches us as an email: your name, your email address and your message. We use it to answer you.

Where it is kept

Your account and your site are stored with Amazon Web Services in Sydney, Australia. Published sites and pictures are delivered through Amazon's network, which has servers around the world, so that they load quickly. Our emails are sent through Amazon's email service, and addresses are placed on the map by Amazon's mapping service. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Who we share it with

Nobody, other than the companies that run the systems above for us. We do not sell your details and we do not send marketing email.

Seeing, changing or removing your details

You can change or remove anything in your site yourself, in the builder. To see what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have your account and everything in it deleted, email us at hello@geeksonline.app. We answer within 30 days, and deletion is done within 30 days.

If you have a concern

If you think we have mishandled your information, email us at hello@geeksonline.app and we will look into it and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this page

If what we collect changes, this page will say so, with the date at the top.
